Trust & Safety — v1.0
Keeping Always Funday safe
Always Funday's product is people meeting in person. That only works when people trust the space. Here's how we protect it — what we do on our side, what we ask of you, and how to get help when something goes wrong.
What we do to keep the platform safe
- Clear standards, enforced. Every account agrees to our Community Standards. We act on violations — up to and including permanent bans.
- Human moderation. Reports go to our team for review. We look at accounts, events, and reported content, and take action proportionate to the harm.
- Reporting built in. You can flag a user or an event from anywhere on the platform. Reporting in good faith never counts against you.
- Payments handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Ticket payments are processed through Stripe's secure infrastructure.
- Your data, protected. How we collect and safeguard your information is covered in our Privacy Policy.
What we don't do — and why it matters
We want to be honest about the limits of any online platform, so you can make good decisions:
- We do not run background checks on organizers or attendees.
- We do not vet or supervise the events people host, and we're not present at them.
- We cannot guarantee that anyone you meet through Always Funday is who they say they are.
Meeting new people is inherently a bit of a leap of faith. We do everything we can to make that leap safer — but your own judgment is still your best protection.
Staying safe at in-person events
A few habits that keep everyone safer when you show up:
- Meet in public first. Especially for a new group or organizer, favor events in public places.
- Tell someone your plans. Let a friend know where you're going and when you expect to be back.
- Trust your gut. If something feels off, you're allowed to leave. You never owe anyone your discomfort.
- Look after your own transportation. Have a way home that doesn't depend on anyone you just met.
- Watch out for each other. If you see someone being made to feel unsafe or unwelcome, step in or report it.
Protecting your account
- Use a strong, unique password you don't reuse anywhere else.
- We will never ask for your password by email or message. Treat anyone who does as a scam and report it.
- Keep payments and conversations on the platform. Requests to pay off-platform or move to another app are a common red flag.
How to report a concern
If something isn't right, tell us. You can:
- Use the in-app reporting tool to flag a user or event for harassment, hate speech, discrimination, spam, or anything else.
- Email us at governance@alwaysfunday.com for anything sensitive or urgent.
If you're in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first (911 in the US). Always Funday is not an emergency service and cannot respond in real time.
What happens after you report
Our team reviews every report. Depending on what we find, we may issue a warning, remove an event, suspend an account, or ban someone permanently. We err on the side of protecting community members — a bad actor who leaves is a good outcome.
You won't face retaliation for reporting in good faith, and retaliation against someone who reports is itself a violation of our standards. Full detail on enforcement and appeals lives in our Community Standards.
