Always Funday

Privacy Policy — v1.0

Your data, in plain English

Always Funday only works if you trust us with a little information about you. Here's exactly what we collect, why, who can see it, and the lines we will never cross — written to be read, not to hide behind.

The short version

  • We collect what we need to run events and your account — nothing more.
  • We never sell your data and we never share it with advertisers.
  • Organizers see the names of people who RSVP to their events. That's the whole point of an RSVP — but we want you to know it upfront.
  • We never see or store your card number. Payments run entirely through Stripe.
  • You can ask us for a copy of your data, or to delete your account, any time.

What we collect

Account information. Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we can never read your actual password). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from them instead.

Profile details you choose to add. A bio, profile photo, your city or location, a personal website, and interests. You control whether your profile is public or private in your settings.

Activity on the platform. The events you RSVP to, save, or attend; posts and reactions in community feeds; and organizers you follow.

Organizer information. If you run events, we also store your organization name and description, your event listings (including venue addresses), and your Stripe account identifiers so we can pay you and bill your subscription.

Technical information. To keep your account secure we store session data including your IP address and browser type, and — if you turn it on — your two-factor authentication setup.

Why we collect it

To create and secure your account, show you relevant events near you, let you RSVP and attend, let organizers run their events and get paid, send you the emails you'd expect (verification, password resets, event confirmations), keep the community safe, and comply with our legal obligations. We don't build advertising profiles.

Who can see your information

Event organizers can see the names — and, for paid events, the ticket details — of people who RSVP to their own events. They cannot see your activity on other organizers' events.

Other members can see your public profile and anything you post in a community feed. If you set your profile to private, that information is hidden.

Our team accesses personal data only when necessary — to provide support, investigate a safety report, or keep the platform running.

Service providers we rely on

We use a small number of trusted companies to operate Always Funday. They only process data on our behalf and are contractually barred from using it for their own purposes:

  • Stripe — processes all payments. Your card number goes directly to Stripe; we never see or store it.
  • Neon & Netlify — host our database and website.
  • Resend — delivers our transactional emails.
  • Cloudflare — stores images you upload, like profile photos and event covers.
  • Google / Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use it to build profiles for targeted advertising. If that ever changes, we will tell you clearly and ask first where the law requires it.

Cookies and tracking

We use only essential cookies — the ones that keep you signed in and keep your account secure. When you log in we set a session cookie, and if you turn on two-factor authentication and choose "trust this device," we set a cookie so you don't have to re-verify for 30 days.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not load third-party analytics or tracking pixels that follow you around the web. Because our cookies are strictly necessary to run the service, we don't show a cookie consent banner. Fonts and other assets are served from our own servers, not a third-party CDN. If we ever add optional analytics, we'll update this section and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal data, except where we're legally required to retain certain records — for example, transaction records Stripe and tax law require us to keep.

Your rights

You can view and edit most of your information any time in your account settings. You can also ask us to send you a copy of your data or to delete your account entirely. Depending on where you live (for example, under California's CCPA), you may have additional rights — we honor those requests for everyone. Just email us.

Children

Always Funday is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the version and date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, let you know directly.
